Jillian M. ReyesAssociate | Office Manager
After graduating from the University of California, Riverside, Ms. Reyes excelled as assistant to the principal attorney in a small transportation law firm. This experience, involving her in all aspects of civil litigation, solidified her childhood goals of becoming an attorney.
Thereafter, Ms. Reyes attended and received her Juris Doctorate from Whittier College, School of Law. While attending Whittier Law, Ms. Reyes served as a senior member of the Whittier Journal for Child and Family Advocacy and gained a “behind the bench” perspective interning as law clerk to the Honorable Margaret R. Anderson. Ms. Reyes also served as treasurer for the Hispanic American Law Students Association and as a member of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association, the Criminal Law Society, and Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. During her time at Whittier Law, she received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Legal Writing II and International Law: Narcotics, Human Trafficking & Terrorism.
Before joining Howard Law, Ms. Reyes gained legal experience in several legal settings, including her positions as in-house counsel for a small corporation and an associate for a leading environmental law firm in Pasadena. She then funneled this experience and enthusiasm for helping people into her position at Howard Law.
Upon joining Howard Law in 2015, Ms. Reyes was initially responsible for ensuring the firm’s compliance and registration requirements with various state agencies. However, after collaborating with the lead attorney in the development and expansion of the firm’s employment litigation department, Ms. Reyes' role expanded and she now supports and manages that growing practice area within the firm. Ms. Reyes understands both the emotional and financial implications of employment claims, which often arise out of situations that leave the employee helpless against an employer, and uses that compassion and understanding to effectively seek out justice for aggrieved employees.
In addition to her focus on employment litigation, Ms. Reyes is also responsible for the day-to-day operations as the firm’s office manager. In this position, she assists all facets of the firm in operating efficiently to promote zealous advocacy for all clients of the firm.Hometown:
